  • bp pulse and IAG Loyalty, the brand behind global rewards currency Avios, launch new partnership for electric vehicle charging
  • Drivers in the UK will now be able to collect up to 4 Avios per £1 when charging their electric vehicles with bp pulse

17 June 2026 - bp pulse has partnered with IAG Loyalty, the organisation behind the global rewards currency Avios, to give customers the opportunity to collect rewards when charging their electric vehicles (EVs). This partnership makes bp pulse the very first EV charging network in the UK to offer Avios.

As more drivers make the switch to electric cars, bp pulse and IAG Loyalty are coming together to launch an exciting new way to collect Avios on everyday EV charging – helping to unlock rewards with every journey behind the wheel.

Launching today, the new offering will be available at bp pulse’s 3,000 rapid and ultra-fast charging points in the UK* for members of The British Airways Club.

Just like collecting Avios on everyday spending, customers can now turn everyday charging with bp pulse into getaways or rewarding experiences. Whether topping up the battery during a weekly shop or charging on a longer journey, every session helps customers build their Avios balance towards a whole range of rewards and experiences.

Thanks to the new partnership, members of The British Airways Club will be able to collect 4 Avios per £1 when using the bp pulse app or subscription, and 2 Avios per £1 when paying by contactless, on every qualifying charging session across bp pulse’s UK public charging network – marking a significant step in making EV driving even more rewarding.

How it works:

British Airways Club members must register their payment cards at avios.com or on the Avios app before charging. Once registered, customers will automatically collect 2 Avios per £1 on eligible transactions, when paying via contactless, with no additional steps required.

Customers using the bp pulse app to start and end their charge, or those with a subscription, can enjoy a boosted collection rate of 4 Avios per £1 on eligible spend. To benefit from this, customers must ensure they've downloaded the bp pulse app, are signed in, and have also registered a payment card in the app wallet.

With this news, bp - and now bp pulse customers - can collect Avios for their fuel, convenience, and EV charging.

Valerio Ferro, General Manager, bp pulse UK commented: “As EV adoption continues to grow, this partnership adds further value to the charging experience – giving customers a simple way to collect Avios as part of their everyday journeys. bp pulse has become the first EV charging network to offer Avios and we’re delighted to be able to reward drivers as they transition to EVs.”

Rob McDonald, Chief Commercial Officer at IAG Loyalty, said: “Our ambition is to make collecting Avios part of everyday life, and bp pulse is a logical partner as more members transition to electric vehicles. By linking EV charging with Avios, we’re giving members another way to turn everyday activity into meaningful rewards - bringing their next trip even closer.”
