IAG Loyalty and Bilt Rewards Partner to Help U.S. Renters Earn Avios
Through the new joint partnership, renters across the U.S. will be able to turn their largest monthly expense into international travel to thousands of destinations with some of Europe’s top airlines
U.K., AUGUST 25, 2022 -- IAG Loyalty today announces a partnership with Bilt Rewards, the first loyalty program for renters to earn points on rent, enabling members to transfer their Bilt Points 1:1 to Avios.
Beginning today, members of Bilt Rewards will now be able to take their points earned on rent, new leases, and more, instantly transferring them at a 1:1 ratio into the Avios currency through the British Airways Executive Club, with transfers to Aer Lingus AerClub and Iberia Plus coming this September.
This marks the first time that travellers will be able to earn Avios from rent payments, in addition to everyday spend, making it easier than ever to access travel to the thousands of destinations available through British Airways, Iberia and Aer Lingus’ global networks.
IAG Loyalty’s global loyalty business serves over 35,000,000 members worldwide. Of the partnership, Rob McDonald, IAG Loyalty’s Chief Commercial Officer, says, “We are thrilled to give collectors a new way to earn Avios, and to reach a new audience of loyalty members through Bilt Rewards. IAG Loyalty and Bilt share a mission to make life more rewarding for our members, and we are excited about the value that we can bring to the market with a brand as innovative as Bilt Rewards.”
Avios is the global loyalty currency owned and run by IAG Loyalty. Through its existing programmes, Avios can be collected across a wide mix of consumer sectors, including aviation, travel, leisure, shopping and financial services. IAG Loyalty partners with market-leading brands such as Nectar, Avis Budget Group and Marriott.
Bilt Rewards launched in June 2021 with an alliance of the country’s largest multifamily real estate owners and property managers including AvalonBay, Blackstone, Camden, Cushman & Wakefield, Equity Residential, GID, Related, SLGreen, Starwood, and Veritas among others. The alliance currently represents over 2 million apartment units where residents can earn points on every rent payment and redeem for miles.
Of the partnership, Bilt Rewards Head of Loyalty and Partnerships, Dave Canty, says, “Avios is a sought-after currency for Bilt members who constantly seek new travel and adventure experiences. We’re excited to work hand-in-hand with IAG Loyalty to add even more ways that Bilt members can redeem their points to truly make renting a rewarding part of their lives.”
To start collecting Bilt points to use towards flights with Avios, any qualifying U.S. resident can enroll in Bilt Rewards. Through the Bilt Rewards app, users can link their Executive Club account and transfer Bilt points 1:1 to Avios.
